Home Sealed Home

by Shea Homes Arizona on October 26, 2011

Did you watch the “blower door test” on Shea Today this week? Even with an installed doggie door, the model home here in Gilbert, Arizona was only letting out one square inch of air as shown in the test. Now that’s a tightly sealed home! In case you’re wondering how that’s possible, here are just a few of the details we tend to when building each home.

1)      Windows – weep holes
See the small holes in the photo to the right? They are called weep holes. Every window has holes like these on the inside and the outside of the frame to keep it from collecting moisture between the panes. However, most windows’ weep holes are lined up so you can actually see straight through one end and out the other. In many of our Shea homes, we use Paramount Windows which install weep holes that are offset from one another and prevent air and dust particles from blowing directly through to the inside of your home.

2)      Cathedralized Insulation
At Shea Homes we build many homes with a Cathedralized Attic, also known as a conditioned attic space, which is an unvented attic with the insulation installed between the upper wood members of the roof trusses instead of at the

It might seem like all new home communities are the same. They are all new, so there isn’t going to be much to distinguish them. Right? Wrong! We believe our  neighborhood in Serrano is truly one-of-a-kind.

Bramasole at Serrano is a community of elegant new homes in six floor plans that range from three to six bedrooms, with three and half to four and half baths, and begin at a roomy 2,970 square feet to a very spacious 4,367 square feet. There’s the perfect size for your family here.

All of our Bramasole homes are anything but cookie cutter. There are so many options to customize your new home and many beautiful standard features. This gated community is 24-hour man patrolled. Oversized kitchen islands open to family rooms, spectacular views, artistic architecture and courtyard entrances. Plus they are all made the quality you’d expect from a Shea home.

And it’s not just our homes that are amazing. The Bramasole at Serrano community is in an enviable location. Walking distance to an 18-hole championship golf course and clubhouse, close to local shopping and dining, plus recreation on the Delta and Lake Tahoe make for a perfect neighborhood. To keep the place looking pristine at all times, the HOA even maintains front yard landscaping. It’s a place you can’t help but fall in love with.

You might think all of these fabulous features are out of your reach, but home prices begin at a reasonable $445,000 and Shea is committed to helping you make this your new home, from financing to helping you pick out paint colors!

If you’re interested in this fantastic community, we’d love to talk with you. We’re located at 2334 Picasso Way, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. Our hours are Saturday through Tuesday 10 am – 6 pm, and Wednesday 2 pm – 6 pm, with

Thursday and Friday hours by appointment. Call the office at (916) 939-2357 to speak with someone today or stop by during our office hours. We’d love to help make this your new home!

October 14, 2011

What’s that, you say? The Ballantyne area of Charlotte is sprinkled with condominium neighborhoods, so what’s so special about Riviera? Well, first off, Riviera doesn’t LOOK like a condominium neighborhood. Our unique triplex design gives a streetscape of single-family homes with garages. Second, our condos are laid out more like homes than attached units.
