Q: What makes the experience of buying, building, and living in a Shea Home special?

A: Honestly, we all have a passion for our guests and customers from the moment they walk through the front door. We are genuinely interested in their wants and needs in a home, as well as their interests and work life.

Q: What are the unique selling propositions of your community? What sets your community apart?

A: The specific topography and surrounding atmosphere of this community, I think, set it apart from others near-by. Within minutes of walking, you can be hiking or biking in the South Mountain Park, which you can see from a good portion of the community.

Q: Tell us about a time you helped a family find their dream home, and what it meant to you.

A: We had a customer here who I connected with quickly, who ended up being out of town for a while after their visit. We had spent hours talking on the phone and via FaceTime one day and they ended up pursuing one of the most sought-after locations in the neighborhood. I think what meant the most to me, was the happiness on their face when they walked through the front door. We are now frequently visited by their dog, Tank!

Q: What community amenity at Vantage do your homeowners love the most?

A: The pools without a doubt. The reserve-ready clubhouse and movie theater are wonderful parts of the amenities here, but the two heated pools and hot tub areas are far too serene to pass up, and are active year-round!

Q: What does living the Shea difference mean to you?

A: Living in a Shea home currently, I can certainly testify that the thought process and design in these homes are on a whole new level. There is just a grand usage of all the square footage with very minimal wasted space, and very high attention to detail.

Post image for Lawn Care Tips For Northern California

Lawn Care Tips For Northern California

by Shea Homes on September 17, 2018

 by Cat Murphy

There are plenty of ways to improve, as well as harm, lawns in Northern California. Newly installed lawns are beautiful, but will need homeowners that can keep up on making sure lawns stay fresh. Consider these lawn care tips for your new yard:

Keep It Taller

Your first instinct with a new yard may be to keep the grass short but doing so can actually cause more harm to the lawn overall. Allowing your grass to grow taller will help shade the grass roots from the hot California sun as well as encourage strong root systems to grow. Tall grass also helps to deter brown spots from appearing as soil becomes too dry. Consider your specific grass type for the recommended mowing height for optimal performance. Only cut up to 1/3 of the total grass blade during a mow in order to keep the grass healthy. Cutting off more than that can pull the grass root and cause significant damage to the grass blades themselves.

Don’t Overwater

We know that you want to keep your lawn alive with regular watering but did you know that too much water can also be a problem? Grass that is too wet can easily become diseased and die in soggy soil. Make sure that you are according to when it actually needs it instead of using a set schedule. Newly installed lawns will need more water to establish well but as the lawn matures make sure to check it before a watering to make sure that it actually needs a drink.

Say Aloha to Aloravita, Shea’s Newest Peoria Community

by Shea Homes Arizona on September 14, 2018

Ascent & Emblem at Aloravita - Peoria, AZPeoria has absolutely exploded in popularity over the past few years. Whether that’s because of the beautiful surroundings, the countless amenities, or the lovely people (likely all three), it’s the ideal place for Arizonans who love to balance outdoor fun with a variety of entertainment options.

And now Shea Homes® Arizona is expanding with another Peoria development: Aloravita. With two new communities under construction, Ascent and Emblem, those looking to experience the Peoria lifestyle will have plenty of options to choose from.

A part of the Aloravita master-planned community, Shea is developing 124 single family homes across 29 acres at the northeast corner of 75th and Jomax. Nestled between Peoria Mountain Preserves and Thunderbird Conservation Park, the stunning landscape provides a natural backdrop to the homes, which take cues from southwestern design to create a harmony between the man-made and natural elements.

Both Ascent and Emblem boast six unique floorplans. Ascent features plans from 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms up to 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, ranging from approximately 1,968 square feet up to 3,062.
