Guest Blog: Becoming a Homeowner is Easy with Shea

by Shea Homes Northern California on January 23, 2012

We’re doing a couple guests blogs on what it’s like to transition from renter to homeowner. This week, we’d like to thank Sean for sharing how he made the leap to homeowner and is now enjoying its many advantages.

“It may seem like buying a home during these uncertain times is a risk, but now having owned a home in the Mondrian community for two years I have no regrets. My decision to purchase a Shea home was totally the right one. After renting for several years and dealing significant rent increases, several moves, and a lack of flexibility to personalize my space I decided to explore home ownership. Initially I was discouraged by what was on the market and I felt that there weren’t a lot of great values out there. That’s until I visited the Mondrian sales office. I spoke with the sales staff and toured the property–I was really impressed! The quality of the homes being built, the proximity to two downtown locations, access to walking/running trails, and most of all the great value made this a place I wanted to call home. I particularly loved the layouts of all the units in the community and it didn’t take me long to decide to purchase a home here.

I’ve really enjoyed Mondrian and would not change a thing about the process of buying my home. I was particularly surprised by the great “over-the-top” customer service that Shea provided while I got settled into my new home. This made the entire experience enjoyable. Looking back I definitely don’t miss the days of renting. In addition to being a great place to live, I feel like I have a great investment for my future (and am enjoying the tax benefits that come along with home ownership!). Most of all I am proud to have a place of my own.”
