Pre-Drywall Walk Through

by Shea Homes Arizona on November 30, 2011

Have you ever thought about what the inside of the walls of your home look like? Well, if you’re a new Shea Home owner, you probably have! In fact, new Shea Home owners in Arizona have the chance to actually see it! As the final stages of construction are reached, before drywall is installed, the excited owners have the opportunity to walk through and learn about all of the inner workings of their new home.

As you can imagine, there is a lot going on between those walls! Aside from a whole lot of wood framing, there are extra measures taken to ensure that the building is properly sealed to prevent dust and outside air from leaking in. There are special “Tech Shields” which prevent excessive heat from entering the attic. There are wires, pipes, cables, hoses, electrical boxes and more.

As each new owner walks through their home, some of the best superintendents in the industry walk through with them to educate them about all of the home’s features and what they mean for the owner once the home is finished. After this walk-through, the drywall is installed, walls are painted, flooring, fixtures and lighting are installed, and the final touches that make a house a home are added.
