Everyone needs a local hangout. That place where the staff knows your favorite beverage. Where you can relax and share tasty food with friends and family. If you live at BackCountry a Shea Homes Community, getting to that happy hangout is as simple as a stroll over to the Sundial House.
Every Friday and Saturday from 4-9pm, Pikes Pub at the Sundial House transforms into a lively second (actually, third) home for Indulge Bistro & Wine Bar, three-time winner of the OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award. An addition to Indulge’s Golden and Highlands Ranch Town Center locations, the BackCountry outpost conveniently brings weekend fun to residents. Happy hour, from 4-6pm, offers reduced prices on food and drinks. And the dinner menu features appetizers, pizzas, and an entrée from the main restaurant’s menu, along with their renowned triple-layer chocolate cake and a specialty cheesecake. Oenophiles will be pleased to know that the BackCountry Indulge always features 25 kinds of wine, ranging from $4 glasses to $350 bottles. Menus also reflect the holidays, such as St. Patrick’s Day-inspired corned beef sliders and Irish Car Bomb cocktails. And Cinco de Mayo will of course have a Mexican emphasis. And rest assured that all food is freshly prepared in the Sundial House’s very own kitchen.
Indulge Marketing Manager Charlotte Wagner says that the restaurant is also happy to help with residents’ private special events. “We coordinate parties and can provide a custom menu and wine list for wedding rehearsals and holiday and birthday parties.” Good food, gorgeous views of the Backcountry Wilderness Area, and—best of all—no cleanup. That’s a handy community resource.
More importantly, Indulge is helping to build a strong sense of community. Bartender Tyler Kalio sees friendships growing among BackCountry’s residents. “This is such a good place to hang out with friends,” he says. “People come here for drinks before they go over to each others’ homes. Or they’ll come here before they go out somewhere else. Sometimes whole streets decide to get together here.”
Indulge has been enriching the neighborhood experience at BackCountry for seven years now. Owners Peter and Delinda Fatianow started the first Indulge, in Town Center, out of a desire for “something a little different in Highlands Ranch,” says Charlotte. “A nicer place that didn’t require a trip downtown, with service that would make people feel at home.” The Fatianows love to travel the world, savoring diverse food and wine, and wanted to share their passion with all of Highlands Ranch, where Peter has lived his whole life.
For residents at BackCountry, Indulge’s unique ambiance—international, yet ultra-local—is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
