Is Reunion right for you? Three questions to ask yourself.

by Shea Homes Colorado on November 24, 2015

No man is an island, they say, and neither is a home. It’s critical that your “perfect home” be in a community that’s equally in sync with your tastes and lifestyle. Because after all, you do have to go outside sometime.

If you’re thinking about Reunion for your future home, ask yourself these three questions. They’ll help clarify what’s unique about the community and if it’s right for you.

1. Do you love the outdoors?
If you moved to Colorado for its natural beauty and endless outdoor activities, then you can skip to question #2. In other words, run, do not walk, to Reunion—you were made for each other. Otherwise, let’s explore this idea a bit. First of all, depending on how it’s situated, your home can offer beautiful vistas of the mountains (including magnificent vistas of Longs Peak), which are easily enjoyed in person, thanks to Reunion’s fast access to I-70; Reunion is nicely positioned north of downtown Denver traffic. But you don’t even need to go to the mountains to get your nature fix. Reunion is just north of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, a 15,000-acre haven to 330 species of animals, including bison and deer. And Reunion is just south of Barr Lake State Park, a perfect, nearby destination for fishing, boating, and bird watching. But really, natural beauty lies just outside your door: Reunion is home to more than 150 acres of parks (boasting their own lakes and waterfalls), 10 miles of trails, and 170 acres of open space.

2. Want to know your neighbors?
Like anyone else, hermits are welcome to live in Reunion—but they sure will miss out on a lot of fun. Reunion was master-planned to build a strong sense of community with amenities that draw people together. Such as multiple parks sprinkled throughout, and, of course, Reunion Park, the 52-acre centerpiece, where people gather for swimming, fitness, and other life-enriching classes at the award-winning rec center; walking the trails; watching the kids play on athletic fields; meeting friends for picnics; and attending community-wide events at the amphitheater and grassy open spaces. The Reunion social calendar is always booked with special events, such as the Kite & Flight Festival, Movie Nights, the Red, White & Bluefest Independence Day Celebration, and other holiday and seasonal events. Reunion residents are quick to tell you how warm and welcoming people are here—friendliness seems to be in the community DNA.

3. How important is price?
Unless you answered that question with “money is no object,” then you’re going to want to look closely at Reunion. Reunion was conceived of as an inclusive community that’s accessible to everyone from young families to empty nesters. Interestingly, real estate website Movato ranked Commerce City (home of Reunion) #1 on its list of most affordable Denver suburbs.  As Commerce City’s largest development, Reunion contributes directly to this ranking where Shea Homes offers their SPACES Collection priced from the upper $200s.  Being so close to downtown Denver (less than 30 minutes away), and Denver International Airport (15 minutes away), and yet so affordable, is truly exceptional.

So now that you’ve mulled over the possibility of living at Reunion, maybe it’s time for a visit. Seeing the place—with its natural beauty, strong sense of community, and well-priced homes—is the best way to definitively answer these questions, and any others you still have.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your inquiry, and Happy New Year to you. At this time, we do not have any other product planned for Reunion other than SPACES. Of course, at some point in the future, that could always change. We are currently building a number of other plans at communities around the Denver Metro area, so we invite you to visit our website to see them all. If you have additional questions, our New Home Advisors are available seven days a week at: 866-696-7432.
