Lighting the Way

by Shea Homes Arizona on June 15, 2012

Sometimes little things can make all the difference. At Shea Homes, we think that light is one of those things. Whether it’s a candle-lit dinner, a splash of sunshine or a night-time bedside lamp, lighting can really change the atmosphere. Think about the difference you feel when you turn on a fluorescent light versus opening the curtains.

At Shea Homes we enjoy offering a variety of lighting options to homebuyers. Here’s a glimpse at just a few ways Shea can light up your home:

First, nothing beats natural light pouring in from outside. But, did you know that heat and even UV rays can often seep through lower quality windows? In order to keep the light in and the heat out, Shea Homes uses vinyl-framed, low-E coated windows. To learn how windows in your Shea Home save you money every day, check out this blog post

Another fun way to let natural light in is through the ceiling! Windows are great for rooms that have an exterior wall, but what about the rooms in the middle of the house? In most plans, Shea offers the option of a unique “Sola-Tube” ceiling light. Light passes through a small circular window on the roof of the house into a reflective tube. On most days in sunny Arizona, it’s enough to light a small room!

Aside from natural lighting, Shea also offers fun ways to light up your kitchen and other rooms of the house. For example, homebuyers can opt to have LED lighting installed under their kitchen cabinets. LED lights last longer than other types of lighting and even provide a more evenly lit countertop. In some plans such as our Shea SPACES homes, buyers can also choose LED powered lighting for their dining area.
