Tiles, tiles, and more tiles – Mosaics that liven up any room

by Shea Homes Arizona on June 8, 2011

When designing various rooms in your house, there are many different ways to create an atmosphere that reflects you and your style. One way to add a unique touch to any area of the home is with a distinctive tile design or mosaic.

Take this bathroom for example. The white marble tile in the bath gives the room a clean and crisp feel.

Here in the shower, the matching marble is accented with a mosaic of small tan and gray tiles, adding some texture to the room overall.

The bathroom isn’t the only area of the home where tile can be used decoratively. Here in the kitchen of one of our Shea SPACES models, a modern backsplash brings the dark cabinets and white countertops together

and adds just the right amount of color variation.

Here, a more rustic kitchen backsplash is displayed in the Shea Homes Design Studio.

Finally, tile mosaics can also be used more traditionally in the flooring of your Shea home. Many of our homeowners choose to combine larger tiles with small tiled patterns such as the ones shown below. Others, if their budget allows, even choose an intricate medallion mosaic for their entryway. (For more on entryway medallions, take a look at this week’s video.
