Caletas at Blackstone – The process

by Shea Homes Arizona on February 8, 2012

As you may have heard, at Shea Homes Arizona, we’ve recently opened a brand new community, Caletas at Blackstone. We’re really excited about this new option for homebuyers who are looking for a low maintenance option that reflects their lifestyle.

We wanted to give you an inside peak at the construction of the models at Caletas as well as the finished product. In the coming weeks we’ll have lots of photos of the interiors of these new models too!

Early morning, a worker prepares the

foundations and the surrounding areas for framing.

These specialty build trailers delivered all of the walls

(also called  panels) which were built in sections at a plant,

then delivered to the models for assembly on the

foundation slabs.

This trio model consists of connected homes,

separated by a state-of-the-art wall system.

After just one day of framing, the

models are coming together.

Here, a crane lifts one of the roof trusses

for workers to install.

After just few days, the frame for this trio model is

completed, now onto plumbing, electric and roof

In some areas, drywall is installed early, such as around

these sola-tubes, which will bring in natural light to a few

areas of the model.

An electrician finishes up wiring in the model.

This netting holds the wet blown insulation

between the studs until the model is drywalled.

Here’s a look after the insulation has been installed.

On the walk out deck of one of the models, a worker

applies  a special, water resistant, coating.

Here’s a great view of the Blackstone Country Club

(and the beautiful Arizona desert) from the middle

model’s front,  upstairs window.

The model structure is now complete. Next it’s ready for

drywall,  masonry, stucco and interior installations such

as cabinetry, carpeting and paint.

And lastly, here is a rendering of the finished product. Come visit us for a tour of these magnificent single family, attached, homes. Or see us online at for more information.

Do you have floor plans available on the internet? If not, how can we get them?
Thank you.
