Entry-level home buyers are entering the marketplace at a stronger pace than 2011, according to Vanessa Linn, vice president of sales and marketing for Shea Homes San Diego.

“As of early June, two of our entry-level communities have already sold more homes than they did in all of 2011,” said Linn. This market segment is recognizing that “now is the time to buy” is more than a cliché, it’s a reality. With rental rates rising in San Diego, home ownership at the entry-level is becoming a more favorable financial strategy.”

Shea’s strong sales are not confined to just in one part of town, they range from North San Diego to Chula Vista.

• At Mandolin in Del Sur, 17 homes have sold through June 12, 2012. Last year, 14 homes sold at Mandolin.

• At Tapestry at Lomas Verdes in Chula Vista, 13 homes have sold year-to-date, compared to 12 homes sold in 2011.

For the second year in a row, Shea Homes has been honored with the prestigious J.D. Power Customer Service Champion recognition, one of only 50 companies to earn such a distinction in 2012.
