Over the next few months we’ll be highlighting some of Shea Homes® Arizona’s amazing Community Representatives. As the faces of Shea, our team members pride themselves on their knowledge and passion for helping buyers find a space perfectly suited to their lifestyle.

This month we chat with Justin Susnik, from Ambition at Recker Pointe. Justin has been with Shea Homes for almost 10 years, and the excitement he brings to the design and buying process is absolutely infectious. 
Faces of Shea: Justin SusnikQ: What makes the experience of buying, building, and living in a Shea Home special?

A: The customer experience when buying, building, and living in a Shea Home is second to none.  Everyone at Shea Homes is committed to creating an exceptional experience for our customers – from our Community Representatives you meet from your first visit to the community, to our Field Managers who help you during the construction of your home, to our Customer Care Representatives who assist you as you close on your home.  We all share the same common goal — to provide the best possible customer support and satisfaction throughout the entire process.

Q: What are the unique selling propositions of your community? What sets your community apart?

A: Ambition at Recker Pointe is a Shea3D community which allows the homebuyers the opportunity to customize any of the three main living spaces: Outdoor-Centric, Entertainment-Centric, and Kitchen-Centric.  With the choice of the three centric spaces, the customer decides the way they want to live within the home.  The Shea3D concept is unique to Shea Homes.

Q: Tell us about a time you helped a family find their dream home, and what it meant to you.

 A: A few years back I had a gentleman that came into the office who just wanted to take a look at the models.  He was in town from the East coast, getting familiar with the area, and looking at places to rent once he retired in seven months.  Buying a home was the last thing on his mind, because he didn’t think he and his wife could afford to buy a home on the fixed income they would have once he retired.  After spending some time talking with him, he got in touch with Shea Mortgage to see what they could qualify for.  After working with one of the Loan Officers, the couple was pleasantly surprised that they qualified to purchase a home with us.  With the wife absent and back home they decided to write a contract before the husband headed back home.  Throughout the process, I would receive emails from the buyer letting me know how cold it was back home and how much snow they had.  He would also include the number of days until retirement.  Seven months later, on the morning of their home delivery the couple rolled up in a U-Haul with all their belongings.  This was the first time the gentleman’s wife had seen the home in person, and she was overwhelmed with emotion when she walked in the front door of their new home.  The couple were in their late 60’s and this was the first home they ever owned.  Every home delivery is special, but this one felt a little extra special that day.

Q: What community amenity at Ambition at Recker Pointe do your homeowners love the most?

A: Definitely our community pool.  The pool amenities include cabanas, a pool house with restrooms, and patio/pool furniture.  It will be a great place for our homeowners to cool off in the summer months and to get to know their neighbors at the same time.

Q: What does living the Shea difference mean to you?

A: I could go on and on what living the Shea difference means to me but I will narrow it down to just a few key principles.  Living the Shea difference to me means doing the right thing all the time and going the extra mile.  It’s easy to do the right thing when people are watching, but true integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.  Always going the extra mile to deliver and exceed the service that is expected of you.
