Why did you move into a Shea Home and what appealed to you about this home?

We had been searching for a new builder in Gilbert for a while. Our biggest criteria within our budget were at least 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, around 3000 square feet, an open floor plan, decent lot size for a good sized yard, having a room close to the master bedroom as a nursery, energy efficiency and solid warranty and builder reputation. The day we found our Shea home, we had already looked through several models and met with a lot of sales teams over at the Bridges master planned community. We actually thought Marbella Vineyards was a little too far south, but decided to still end our exhausting day there since it was nearby. We were not expecting much since we had already seen so many great homes, but we instantly fell in love with the Excite floor plan and kitchen-centric layout. The modern exterior was also a huge bonus and didn’t look as cookie cutter as a lot of the other houses that we had seen so far. Everything in the house just had so much “WOW” factor and the Shea 3D concept was impressive and allowed for a more customized home.

Describe your homebuying experience with Shea Homes from a business standpoint and from a personal standpoint.

Lynda Moore was who we met with initially, and we really bonded with her and the entire sales staff at Marbella Vineyards (Berry, Paula, Jess, and Suzanne) and really consider all of them our friends. We would stop by every weekend, catch up on college sports and our lives along with the progression of the house. They really made us feel comfortable and took care of us. They would even email us pictures of how the build was going as the house was undergoing construction. Out of every sales team we met, they were by far the best. They knew what we were looking for and always had our best interest at heart.

Mike, our superintendent, was also top-notch. He was laid back, but got things done and went out of his way to help us when needed. He was great at providing updates and fixing issues, and he had a keen eye for quality construction. He was also an integral part in helping us feel more at ease and less stressed with such a large purchase.

Which space(s) do you spend the most time in and why?

The kitchen and great room, the master bedroom and the backyard. The kitchen and great room are incredibly open and perfect spaces for entertaining and relaxing. The master bedroom is a nice retreat for us to also relax, and we love the walk in shower that we added with a rainfall showerhead. The backyard is a good size and the nicest we have ever owned. So, we spend many evenings barbequing and eating on the patio or lounging by our new pool.

How will your new Shea Home accommodate the new changes in your life, such as your new baby?

One of the big reasons we were moving was to anticipate our family growing in size, and this house could definitely fit any new additions. Plus, it has extra space for friends and family visiting and an office space.

What features of your Shea Home stood out to you during the homebuying process?

The modern exterior; limited but good range of choices in options; amazing kitchen and open floor plan; energy efficiency; and quality features and options.

What do you love about the community and area you live in?

We have really awesome neighbors (at least the ones that have moved in and we have met so far)! We love having a corner lot and it’s also a short walk from a HUGE field that is great for walking and outdoor activities. It’s also wonderful to still be in Gilbert but in the Chandler school district at the same time.
