Shea Homes is a Proud Partner of the Arizona CardinalsFootball season is here and we couldn’t be more excited! Now in our third year of partnering with the Arizona Cardinals, we’ve got plenty of fun planned for our Shea Homes homeowners and Arizona Cardinals fans. Here are five ways you can get involved!

Visit a Shea Homes Community and Enter to Win Tickets

First, we’re gearing up to give away four-packs of tickets and parking passes to Cardinals home games. Entry forms are available in all Shea Homes model homes across the Valley. Winners will be drawn throughout the season, so make sure to visit a Shea Homes community (excluding Trilogy communities) and get your entry form in!

Need some Cardinals swag? We’ll also be giving away loads of merchandise and autographed memorabilia at sheahomesgameday.com.

Tailgate with Shea Homes

Throughout the season, we’ll have plenty of opportunities to join us for some football fun. Our much-anticipated Shea Homes tailgate parties will light up the Great Lawn at the stadium on October 15 when the Cardinals face Tampa Bay and December 3 when we take on Los Angeles (Tip: Follow Shea Homes Arizona and sign up for tailgate events to receive reminders!) These tailgate events are free to the public, and you’re all invited. If you haven’t been, you’re in for a treat. The Shea team is all about grilling and chilling!

Tour a Shea Homes Community and Meet Cardinals Players at House of Cards Events

Shea will also be teaming up with the Arizona Cardinals organization for events throughout the season, including our popular House of Cards events, where we welcome Cardinals cheerleaders, Big Red, and other Cardinals personnel to our model homes for games, autographs, photo opps and plenty of giveaways.

Follow us Online

Follow Shea Homes Arizona on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to be a part of the football fun. You’ll also get updates on important events like our Hometown Huddle community service project, which hasn’t been announced yet, but will be something that makes a big positive impact on our community. (Last season, together Shea Homes and the Arizona Cardinals completely renovated a South Phoenix community center, and the year before that, we added a playground to a very deserving Phoenix school!)

Here’s to a winning season with Shea Homes and the Arizona Cardinals!

4 Fun, Inexpensive Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

by Shea Homes Arizona on May 12, 2017

The key to Mom’s heart isn’t always a pricey gift. More often than not, there are other, thoughtful ways we can honor our Moms that they will cherish forever. Here are a few tips and ideas to get you started.

Before you start, figure out what makes your mom feel special and loved. A good place to start, is to think about how she likes to celebrate, encourage and show you love.
Mother's Day Brunch1.) Create a homemade brunch for her to wake up to complete with some of her favorite things – including a personalize color scheme and her absolute favorite breakfast treats! Make it fancy with a tablecloth, flowers, plates, napkins and glasses full of her favorite beverage. Voila! Simple, cheap, beautiful and thoughtful!

Family Outing2.) Take the whole family on an outing whether it’s a hike, a day at the pool, a picnic at the park or a day trip to the her favorite nearby destination, these activities bring the family together and result in wonderful, lasting memories. Again, think about your mom’s favorite things to do & what makes her feel loved.

Stay Home3.) Stay at home for the day and create fun Mother’s Day traditions. Find some quick and easy baking recipes that you can do with your mom or wife and enjoy later! You can even make the day competitive by playing outdoor sports and indoor games! Pick up a cheap badminton or croquet set to set up in your backyard and get the energy and competition flowing outside. Or dig up those old board games, build a fort and create a new Mother’s Day tradition.

Homemade Gifts4.) Make homemade gifts for mom with the little ones. These are the gifts that mean the most to her. Get some finger-paint at your local craft store with a pack of cardstock and make a collage of handprints from everyone in the family. Another idea is to grab ingredients from her favorite dessert (i.e. cookies or scones) and layer each ingredient, one on top of the other, in a mason jar. Decorate the jar with a piece of patterned cloth over the lid and tie it with ribbon. Bake the dessert on Mother’s Day for fun bonding time and a delicious treat. Better yet, send mom out on a fun trip by herself or with a close friend – could be to the movies, for a manicure/pedicure or another one of her favorite activities – and surprise her with a clean home & a freshly made meal when she returns. Add in homemade cards from everyone in the family for an extra special touch.

Say thanks to mom this weekend and tune in to our Shea Homes blogFacebook, and Twitter for Father’s Day ideas. It’s just around the corner!
